Flowstone Flooring’s Resin Flooring Installation in Stanstead Warehouse ..

Objective:
Flowstone Industrial flooring Ltd were appointed as the specialist epoxy resin flooring contractor to provide a new resin floor finish to a warehouse building in Stanstead.

Challenges:
The floor area measured approximately 1,800 sqm and the client wanted a seamless, hard wearing resin floor finish suitable for general industrial warehouse use.

What We Did:
Virtus Resins Strongcoat epoxy resin was selected for the job. The product is British made and conforms to British Standard BS 8204 and is classified by FeRFA (the resin flooring association) as a Type 3 product. It is a popular and cost effective choice for customers looking for a mid-range, epoxy resin floor suitable for general warehouse use. It is laid up to a maximum thickness of 1mm and can withstand pallet and forklift truck traffic as well as heavy foot traffic, plastic wheeled trolleys and occasional mild chemical spillage. The product is guaranteed for 3 years and has a life expectancy of around 5 years, depending on how heavily the floor is trafficked.
The floor was mechanically prepared by way of dust captive shot-blasting using a Blastrac 2-20 shot-blaster to ensure a clean and keyed surface. It is always recommended that the floor is mechanically prepared to ensure a good bond between the existing concrete and the new resin. Two coats of Virtus Resins Strongcoat were applied in Mid Grey.
The project took 4 days to complete.
The Clients were very pleased with the finish and commended Flowstone Industrial Flooring Ltd on their cooperation with regards to phasing of the works and praised the team for a “top job”.
