The EJOT CROSSFIX façade support system has enabled Kovara Projects to securely and efficiently install a complex timber cladding feature at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.
Designed to meet Carbon Net Zero in construction and target BREEAM Very Good certification, the building required a ‘plug-and play’ solution to support timber cladding on the soffits of its overhanging gables, covering a total of 24 sq. m across the eaves of the recessed facades. The CROSSFIX system was able to meet the brief effectively, avoiding the need for a bespoke solution while providing Kovara with a specification and package backed with the full engineering calculations.
EJOT CROSSFIX is an advanced, stainless steel (A4) substructure system designed for mounting rainscreen facades and bespoke cladding. Robust and supported with both a European Technical Assessment (ETA) and an EPD, the system is uniquely versatile in that it enables both horizontal and vertical support profiles to be attached to a single bracket, known as the Konsole, to streamline the design and installation process. This gives CROSSFIX great application flexibility to solve all kinds of façade fixing challenges.
