Gradus has installed a range of wall protection solutions at an NHS Rainbow Community Hub in Elland, West Yorkshire, including its new bespoke digitally printed wall cladding SureProtect Artworx.
Based in the historic Clock House building on Huddersfield Road, the new NHS Rainbow Hub caters for young people with complex healthcare needs. Its two storeys include outpatient and therapy treatment rooms, a play assessment area and sensory room, and office space for specialist nursing community teams.
Installed in the communal and circulation areas, Gradus SureProtect Artworx cladding creates a peaceful and calming atmosphere that takes inspiration from the natural world with depictions of trees. The experienced Gradus Contracts Team were key to ensuring that the intricate print pattern lined up correctly to give the desired effect across the walls.
In addition, Gradus installed wood effect SureProtect Design panels in the waiting areas, as well as half-height panels in some patient rooms. These added to the theme of the nature, again helping to create a healthy and healing atmosphere.
In the treatment areas, Gradus also installed SureProtect Endure, its textured, impact-resistant PVC-u sheet that is through-coloured to ensure that any damage is less visible. Durable and easy to clean, SureProtect Endure provides a cost-effective way to reduce maintenance and protect the appearance of the interior walls.
Finally, Gradus supplied and installed its SureProtect Pure hygienic wall cladding in the wet rooms. SureProtect Pure is specifically designed for areas where cleanliness is a priority, creating an impermeable barrier to moisture and bacteria, along with resistance to impact-damage. The smooth and easy-to-clean surface is an ideal alternative to ceramic tiles as it removes the need for grout, which can harbour dirt.
Jammal Mohammed, Senior Estates Officer – Capital at Calderdale and Hudderfield Solutions Ltd, which runs the Hub, comments: “We are very impressed with the finished result from Gradus at the Rainbow Community Hub. The standard of service we received, and product quality was great, as you can see from the images taken. Feedback from our families and our teams who work there has also been really positive.”
Brontie Bennett, Marketing Product Manager at Gradus, adds: “It was great to work with the team at the NHS Rainbow Community Hub and provide various wall cladding solutions to meet their specific requirements.
“As this project shows, we have a complete range of wall cladding solutions that together meet every need of a healthcare environment – whether the priority is artwork, durability, or hygiene. By incorporating biophilic design in the printed trees on SureProtect Artworx and the wood effect of SureProtect Design, we were able to help connect users of the hub to nature, which is proven to help reduce stress and positively impact wellbeing.
We’re ready and available to discuss how we can help with any similar projects, so to any facility managers who are planning refurbs or fitting out new buildings, don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
