Directly tileable wedi elements, manufactured with 100% green energy, at least 25% recycled XPS core material, are waterproof to the core. The new range of seamless wedi Top design surfaces, manufactured 100% from recycled materials, provide a large-format, warm to touch, hygienic and non-slip surface finish.
Regardless of the final design of the shower area, walls are either plastered masonry or often stud, fully cladded with plasterboard. The comprehensive wedi Wall sealing set contains everything that is needed to seal 7.5m² of such surfaces: this specially tailored set is a perfect complement to wedi Fundo shower elements, creating a secure and functional shower enclosure, and – beside the 10 year product quality guarantee wedi offers for each and every product in their standard product range – such installations would also be awarded not only with a CE mark but also, a full wedi system warranty.
wedi building boards are however, strongly recommended for such installations that require levelling, thermal insulation or are planned to receive large format tiling or stone as a surface finish. Their excellent thermal (0.036 W/mK) and loadbearing (133kg/m 2 ) capabilities set them apart from other foam tilebackers on the current market. They are solid, stable and can be easily cut to required dimensions with very little, non-hazardous dust and come with their own Environmental Product Declaration – for perfect compliance with sustainable building.
