Squid, a brand owned by highly-respected Belgian textile company Lampe Textiles NV, is the very first transparent fabric that also acts as a self-adhesive curtain, and a popular non-PVC alternative to traditional decorative window films.

Increasingly popular with interior designers and architects, the innovative window solution has a 5-year durability, as well as helping to retain privacy, and let in natural light. Its unique texture offers a realistic feel and minimalistic design.

The 300-micron woven fabric, which is moisture resistant, is available in six colours – Chalk, Bone, Oak, Ash, Rock and the newly-launched Coal – providing endless glass design possibilities for commercial interiors in offices, retail or healthcare sectors.

The innovative window solution is quick and easy to install and can be applied directly onto glass surfaces. Suitable for any type and shape of window, Squid sticks to glass indefinitely, but can be removed effortlessly without leaving unsightly glue residue.

Ideal for digital printing, the high-quality fabric can be used with UV and eco-solvent printers providing new commercial and marketing opportunities.

The breathable fabric can deflect between 25 to 36 per cent of the sun’s energy, depending on the colour, reducing solar heat gain during Summer months too.

Marketing Manager of Architextural Lindsay Appleton said: “It’s incredibly exciting to be able to announce the addition of Squid to our portfolio. This unique textile window solution is a fantastic alternative to traditional PVC or polyester window films.

“It presents substantial commercial possibilities. With the ability to print designs onto the fabric, as well as changing the ambience of any interior space, the possibilities are truly limitless with this product.”
