wedi’s newest building board, the Vapor 85 was especially developed for challenging applications in areas with very high levels of humidity – such as communal wet rooms that are constantly under a heavy strain, in wellness areas such as steam rooms or as an interior lining of swimming pool halls for example.
As a panel type sealing system – a building board with a pre-integrated vapour membrane barrier – it provides an SD value of 92, making it ideally suited to high chloride environments. Due to its vapour retardant properties, the board can assist in protection of steel frames as well. What is more, it can be directly bonded onto frames without the need of mechanical fixing and so it eliminates risky and laborious sealing measures over penetrations!
Thanks to its excellent thermal insulation properties (0.036 W/mK) and 100% watertightness it guarantees an all-round protection: not only prevents water damage to the structural envelope of the building or maintain interior humidity levels in steam rooms, but also prevents heat loss and can be directly tiled onto.
An indispensable product in combination with wedi Vapor 85 is the high-quality single component wedi 620 sealant . The newest wedi sealant has been developed to be used alongside wedi fleece tapes and sealing gaiters for reliable sealing and bonding of connections and butt joints in a single step.
Furthermore, wedi’s Top design surfaces are approved for use in areas with constant high humidity – providing a seamless alternative to traditional tiling and hence promoting utmost hygiene through their groutless design and antibacterial surfaces.
Complemented by Top design surfaces, the whole installation would require only 5 components from start to finish, therefore significantly reducing the time needed for the project.
