Pressalit Care has opened a new demonstration showroom at its Reading offices at Green Park that features its extensive range of accessible bathroom products.

With the ability to adjust the layout to replicate different bathroom scenarios, Pressalit Care can demonstrate to those looking to install or adapt an accessible bathroom, the space and flexibility requirements needed by wheelchair users and those who need the assistance of a parent or carer.

“It’s important to remember that when designing or fitting equipment into a bathroom that is going to be used by disabled adults or children, that space requirements vary greatly,” says Andrew Lowndes, UK sales manager at Pressalit Care. “By opening this showroom, architects, specifiers and end users are able to see at first hand how their intended bathroom will look, how the individual elements such as shower, wash basin and toilet can be adjusted to suit the individual, and where they need to be positioned to allow for ease of use.”

The Plus system – Pressalit Care’s acclaimed track system – is fitted within the showroom to demonstrate how easy it is to manoeuvre elements both vertically and horizontally to provide the flexibility required in an accessible bathroom. Elements such as a shower chair, rise and fall basin, support arms and toilet are all available for visitors to test out.

The company’s new Matrix Medium basin is also featured, together with the popular Nursing Bench 3000.

Andrew continues, “When planning a bathroom layout it’s important to take into account the requirements of the individual who will be using the facilities – whether it’s a Changing Places facility in a public place, or a bathroom in a nursing home; whether it’s to be used by one or a number of different users, or indeed if they are independent users or requiring the help of a carer.

“Being able to see how the bathroom can be laid out, the space required for wheelchair use, and how the adjustable elements work in practice, can be a massive help not just to architects and end users, but to professionals such as OTs and Nurses who work in such environments on a regular basis.

“We’re here to offer help and advice – anyone wishing to visit the showroom just needs to call us on 0844 8806950 to arrange a suitable time.”
